Levi, Pratik, Patiola, Ben and Keziah using materials and fingers to work out Maths problems also  finding out different ways to make 10.

Thank you Eeny Meeny for the amazing introductory pack. Room 1 really enjoyed using multicover paper to make cards for our parents and loved once.

Inquiry Topic: Island Hopping
We are learning about Tonga. Tongan culture, tradition, clothes and Tongan food when we had the privilege to listen to Tongan songs by our beautiful Tongan students.

CONGRATULATIONS to ROOM 1 STUDENTS and THEIR WHANAU
for making buddy stay in our class for another week.
We WON the punctuality award for coming to school on time. We only had one latecomer in week 6. We are now aiming to win best class attendance as well as keeping up with always coming to school on time.

We are learning to count backwards from 10...
We are little smart cookies :)
BUT we are not perfect, we make mistakes and we learn from it!

In room 1 we love reading our books.
We practice reading with expressions and self correct our errors.

Writing: Melting Ice Cubes
We observed melting an ice cube, we looked at the shape, what it is made of, why it melts quickly in our hands, how it feels on our cheeks, and hands. We sounded out the words and noted down everything we could feel, and see. So that while writing we could always refer to our notes.

Congratulations to Keziah and Elijah
for getting the star of the week award in our Aroha Assembly.

Week 5 Success stories in Room1

In Room 1 we are very proud of ourselves. We are now able to say our numbers backwards from 10... WOOOHOOO

We were able to achieve our goals of 200 Dojo points...
Therefore on Friday, we chose to spend our last block doing painting. We painted Ice-block sticks which will be used in Maths time to learn patterns.
We get Dojo points for bringing our book bag, participating,  teamwork, staying on task, showing respect and we get whole class points if we all come to school.

Our writing lessons are intense and we get super busy. We do a whole class brainstorm on an active tablet in order to enrich our vocabulary. We help Miss Nisha model 'an introduction' and then we start writing what we are capable of.

Congratulations to Kaecyus and Maybel for getting Star Student Award in team Aroha assembly.
