Week 4 in Aroha 1

In Room 1 we display our latest piece of work here. So, please feel free to come and see what we've been up too.

It was great to see most of the Whanau at 'Meet the Teacher' evening. Together we'll be able to make your child's goals achievable.

We finish our day with big smiles on our face...
LOVE MY BUNCH OF HAPPINESS <3 !

Week 3 in Aroha 1

Our swimming lesson was engaging and fun with Room 2 students. We were able to listen to the instructions very carefully and make the right choice. We also helped each other inside the pool.

Thank you to all the parents of Aroha 1 for helping and supporting Rowandale School fundraise for Heart Foundation.
We were able to collect around $15.00 in our class and school-wide we collect $500.00

Room 1 also enjoyed doing their Mahi (work) while being colourful

Congratulations to Keziah, Pratik and Levi for receiving PRIDE values award #Participation alongside PRIDE band
Also, to Silaga and Samara-Lee for receiving a Duffy award #Caught_Being_Good alongside a book of their choice

Thank you to all the Whanau who came alone to support, and be part of their student's success.
The feeling of belonging and proudness is different when it is celebrated with our loved once.

WEEK 2 ADVENTURE IN ROOM 1

At maths time we sorted the cards according to their colour and pattern before playing snaps. This was a very engaging method to learn numbers.

Learning numbers through snap game

In Room 1 we sit in a circle and bless our Kai (in different language e.g. Samoan) before eating. While eating quietly we listen to Māori Waiata.

We really enjoyed Wednesday and Thursday Powhiri practice from 2pm. We were able to sing some words from the Waiata (Māori music).

On Friday after Powhiri all the badges were blessed by Kaumatau (Māori elder) and given to Rowandale Schools 2018 leaders.

Welcome to Room 1's Blog

In room 1 we are very lucky to have 3 adults (Miss Nisha with Miss Reed and Mrs Nuuola - TA's)
to help and support us with our learning

On our first day we did Go Noodle as our brain break and we really enjoyed it!

On Friday we had our buddy class (room 17) coming in our room to help us with our learning.

We played bingo where we asked each other questions such as likes, dislike and, our hobbies. This was great as students got to learn about each other and make the connection.

Miss Perry's class also helped us with our reading

We were lucky to have buddy each to read with

This was great as we build whanaungatanga (relationship) and Ahurutanga (safe space) among the Tuakana teina (older and younger tamariki) of Rowandale School. It was also great to see Rm17 students taking the initiative to come at morning tea to check on their buddy.
